How this works
Every statement is taken word for word from a debate page on the site. You see 6 arguments the left makes and 6 the right makes, drawn at random from 400, in random order, with nothing to tell you which is which. Agreeing counts toward that side. Disagreeing counts toward the other one. Saying you are not sure counts for neither.
Most people find they agree with several arguments from the side they thought they were against. That is the part worth sitting with, and it is the reason the labels are hidden until the end.
Political views shift over time. These reflect where each side stood when the quiz was written.
