Where these come from

Every view in this quiz is taken word for word from a debate page on the site. Nothing has been paraphrased, sharpened or softened to make it easier to place. Each one is the argument as that side actually makes it, at the strength that side would make it. The bank is split evenly between the two sides and spread across fifty topics in all eleven subject areas, from the economy and elections through to immigration, healthcare and the environment.

Most political writing tells you whose side it is on before it tells you anything else, through who gets quoted, which words are chosen, and what is left out. Take that away and leave only the claim, and the two sides stop being obvious. Scoring near five out of ten is the common result, which is the part worth sitting with.
